The majestic Dardanelle Cones show off in the late afternoon sunlight while huge thunder clouds form over them. Afternoon light is not always flattering for many subjects, but here I think it works perfectly. Creating some drama and really adding to the sense of scale. Harsh shadows fall in the crevices of the mountain crags as well as the folds of the fluffy clouds. The snow tops of the clouds reflecting the bright sun.
Landscape photography has taught me to appreciate each moment, to take in the simple beauty I may have previously overlooked. It really is amazing out here, come on out and lets go explore these Sierra Nevada's!
